The Mission of our Church

St. Anne’s Episcopal Church is a diverse, inclusive community
committed to growth, dedicated to community outreach, committed to shared leadership, and engaged in transformation.

St. Anne’s Episcopal Church - The mission of St. Anne’s Church, part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, is to help people discover paths to faith in today’s world.  We do this by following the example of Jesus.  We share stories from our lives, dealing with both contemporary and timeless issues.  We connect our stories with stories in scriptures, and make decisions consistent with the lessons learned.  We balance scripture, tradition and reason according to the theology of the Episcopal Church.  Our metaphor for exploring paths is our labyrinth, which is open to everyone.

A Diverse, Inclusive Community - We are a diverse and inclusive community made up of traditional and non-traditional families and individuals. We offer an intellectually stimulating environment to explore the sacred mystery of God. Our community engages in honest, open questioning, seeking and questing as we pursue our individual journeys together.  We are always a work in progress as a Christian community. In the words of our tradition, we are the Body of Christ at work in the world through St. Anne’s.

Committed to Growth - Spiritual growth is a strongly honored commitment among the members of St. Anne’s. We offer many opportunities for spiritual development including retreats, adult education, healing prayer, and children’s programs for all ages.

Dedicated to Community Outreach - We are deeply committed to community outreach. Currently, we have two teams who provide meals to Abode Services at Sunrise Village Homeless Shelter twice a month.  We also have a recovery worship service on the 1st Sunday of every month and grief support group meetings on a regular basis. Individually, our parishioners are active in the community as an expression of their faith.

Committed to Shared Leadership - Lay ministry is extremely important at St. Ann’s. Through the lay ministers, the church continues Jesus’ work in the world. The clergy work with lay ministers for the common goal of furthering Jesus’ message of peace, justice and love. Our parishioners are active in serving communion, as prayer leaders, as readers, and as ministers for healing prayer.

Engaged in Transformation - We believe we all participate with God in our personal transformation and in the transformation of creation, as each of us carefully works to discern what God is calling us to do.

We invite newcomers to join us.
